Some 250 craftspeople from 38 traditional handicraft
villages will take part in the 2015 Traditional Handicraft Festival Hue
to take place from April 29 to May 3.
The 34th National Television Festival will kick off in central Hue City
on Wednesday with the screenings of some 500 television programmes
produced by Viet Nam Television (VTV), local television stations and
communication companies.
Graceful traditional dance, entertaining music and clever gestures by
Chinese, South Korean and Vietnamese dancers made a grand opening at the
first International Dance Festival in Hue on Monday evening.
Acclaimed American music band The Amigos will perform at a free public
concert and take part in outreach events for disadvantaged people from
April 12 to 14 during the Festival Hue.
Hue International Food Festival will be held from April 15 to 19 in Hue
City''s Phu Xuan Park featuring 100 international stands. Of these, 20
come from Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, and China.
Some 2 million visitors came for the nine-day
Festival Hue last month, a 62 per cent increase compared to the previous
edition two years ago, according to provincial authorities.
An international percussion festival to be held in
Hue City will gather instruments from different regions of the world and
honour the "magnanimous sound of Vietnamese drums," says organiser and
theatre director Le Quy Duong.
